Tool#11

My favorite tools were i movie and Google Docs.  With imovie, I can make a video of the kids in my classroom, or a movie documenting all their art. After adding music and text this would be perfect for my spring art presentation for fine arts night.
After completing 11 tools my thinking of the learning that will take place in a classroom has greatly changed. I see a completely digital classroom for most homerooms, however, as an art teacher who teaches 500 kids, I do not foresee the same kind of digital agenda that a classroom teacher might have.
The unexpected surprise for me was putting my voice in my avatar.  That was kind of funny.  I also really enjoyed playing with the different apps and now I want an iphone.

Tool #11

For digital citizenship in my classroom I would first stress that it would be safe, legal, and a responsible use of information. I would at all times be actively monitoring their digital learning.   The second point I would teach my students is that they shouldn't accept everything as true just because it is on the web.  They must check their resources at all times.  The final thing I would teach my students is digital etiquette, making sure my students have good on-line manners and never use the digital learning in ways that can be deleterious.

Tool#10

Some apps that I explored that are free and classroom friendly are artlite, photoshop.com, and for fun papertoss.  I think these apps could enhance classroom learning by adding yet another dimension in learning with technology.

Tool #9

I can use Jing in the classroom if I am wanting to enhance my online conversations.  I could easily use this to enhance something written on Google Docs or Google Reader.

I can use Skype in the classroom if I want to show my students what an art classroom in another country is doing.  We could connect with other elementary age students to see what kind of painting, pottery, or weaving other students are doing all over the world.  I could also have someone read one an artist's biography through Skpye, or help students out with any artwork perhaps they are working on at home.

Tool #8

As a person who deeply values humor a video that I would show to the classroom when comic relief is needed is http://www.hbo.com/flight-of-the-conchords/index.html.

Another link that I could incorporate in my classroom is this video on cartooning, as I usually have a cartooning lesson, at http://www.blinkx.com/videos/cartooning

Embedding videos would make classroom videos easier to manage and more accessible in less time.

Tool #7

Creating a video from i movie can really lend itself to the art classroom.  It would be a great way to show steps for art projects or it would also be a great way to display student work.
